Voluntary Local Review (VLR) Report on SDGs in the City of Pointe-Noire
The city of Pointe-Noire has officially launched its first Voluntary Local Review (VLR) on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This milestone marks a significant commitment by local authorities to align municipal development efforts with global goals, ensuring that no one is left behind.
The VLR highlights the city’s progress, challenges, and priorities across various SDGs, from access to basic services and inclusive economic growth to environmental sustainability and climate action. It also showcases innovative local initiatives, inter-institutional collaboration, and active citizen participation.
This effort reflects Pointe-Noire’s ambition to strengthen transparency, accountability, and local governance, while accelerating its transition toward a more inclusive and resilient urban future. The report was developed in collaboration with the United Nations system in Congo, and in line with national development strategies and international commitments.
