The United Nations system in the Republic of Congo is led by a team guided by mutual accountability for delivering results. Coordination is strengthened and ensured by the UN Resident Coordinator, who serves as the designated representative of the UN Secretary-General for development operations.

The UN Country Team operates under the “Delivering as One” approach to more effectively respond to national development priorities and humanitarian needs, in line with the UN’s mandate. The system currently comprises 20 resident and non-resident UN agencies, funds, programmes, and entities.

To foster collaboration and maximize synergies, joint programmes are implemented in partnership with sectoral ministries. These initiatives enable UN agencies to combine their expertise based on their comparative advantages, supporting national development strategies and priorities together.

More information about the UN system’s work in Congo is available on the UN Info data portal.

The Sustainable Development Goals in Congo
